Lauren M. Schweizer
Lauren Schweizer is a criminal defense attorney with over five years of experience in the Bay Area as both a private defense attorney and a public defender. Prior to joining L&I, she was a Deputy Public Defender for the City and County of San Francisco, one of the most prestigious Public Defender offices in California. Lauren takes an aggressive stance in defending both misdemeanors and felonies, from pre-arraignment through trial and sentencing. Lauren’s robust trial practice results in her preparing, investigating, and litigating each case as if it were going to trial. She has defended the rights of the accused in every kind of criminal case: from petty thefts and DUIs to white-collar cases and serious and violent felonies.

Lauren dedicates her entire practice to criminal defense. She believes that the criminal justice system is deeply flawed and fights hard for her clients no matter the circumstance.
Her client-centered practice focuses on empowering clients during what is often the worst moment of their lives – an arrest and criminal charges. She sees a client as a whole person, not just what is stated in a police report. Lauren’s extensive experience working with clients includes those with mental health diagnoses, substance abuse issues, a history of domestic violence, and past trauma.
